A memorial for a mother, built on the family farm where her children and grandchildren can gather. The monolithic concrete pavilion stands apart from the greenery around it, yet its permeability, visual and spatial, ties it back. You can walk through it, climb to its upper level, or simply sit beneath its shade.
A single oculus opens the circle to the sky, water rests at the centre, surrounding a planter with her ashes, and the seating turns everyone towards the sunset. A place for solitude, for companionship, and for the bonds of family, with ramps woven into the landscape so every generation reaches it together.
